Personal encrypted backups to Google Drive
backup is a personal, open-source backup tool used by its developer on their own computers. It makes encrypted, incremental backups of documents, configuration files and keys and stores them in the user's own Google Drive.
How it uses Google Drive
- It requests only the
drive.filescope: access to files the app itself creates. It cannot see, read or change any other file in your Drive. - Backups are encrypted on your computer (restic, AES-256) before upload. Google and the developer see only encrypted data.
- Files are uploaded with rclone into a
backupfolder in your Drive. - No data is sent to the developer or any third party. There is no server, analytics or tracking.
Who can use it
The app is intended for the developer's personal use. It is not offered as a service.
