Personal encrypted backups to Google Drive
Last updated: November 4, 2026
This policy describes how the backup application ("the app") handles information, including data obtained through Google APIs.
Data the app accesses
The app requests the Google Drive https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file scope.
This lets it create files in your Google Drive and read, update or delete only the files it created.
It cannot access any other file in your Drive.
How the data is used
- The app uploads encrypted backup files that you choose to back up from your own computer, and downloads them when you restore.
- Backup contents are encrypted on your computer before upload with a password that only you hold. Neither Google nor the developer can read them.
- OAuth tokens are stored only on your own computer, in the rclone configuration file.
Data sharing and storage
- The app does not send any data to the developer or to third parties. It has no server.
- Data is stored only on your computer and in your own Google Drive.
- The app does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell it, and does not use it to train AI or machine-learning models.
Limited Use
The app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Backups stay in your Google Drive until you delete them. You can delete them at any time in Google Drive, and revoke the app's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Deleting the local configuration removes the stored tokens.
